DK3: Davenport Desk
A typical Victorian Davenport, copied from one I found on an antiques web site. Made from cherry with a walnut stain.
The top lifts up and the inside is fitted with letter racks and pen and ink well holders, as shown below. The sloped writing surface also raises to reveal one working drawer, three dummy drawers and two pigeon holes.
The right hand side of the desk has four working drawers and the left hand side has four dummy drawers.
About 1870. Victorian.
